It’s Christmas cookie time! πŸͺ

It’s Christmas baking time and obviously that means lots and LOTS of cookies!! Over the weekend Erin was baking for a cookie swap she decided to participate in. I’ve always thought it was a neat idea but I myself have never participated in one. Which is funny because as we were talking about it my husband says to me ‘you’ve done a few of those before.’ I explained that no I haven’t done them ever but I have been invited to quite a few over the years. So he says that he’s sure I’ve done them before because we’ve had some weird platters of cookies around the holidays that nobody eats. And there you have it, exactly why I don’t participate. Those weird platters of cookies are just sweet, generous gifts from friends & neighbors. But they rarely get eaten at my house.

So for a cookie swap you are asked to bake 6, 10 or 12 dozen of one type of cookie usually. Then each person takes a certain amount of each type, therefore going home with a variety of cookies. You often get to try and take cookies that you never would’ve made on your own…. Which sounds delightful! If I went to a cookie swap I would want to bring my ten dozen cookies back home with me 🀣😜. Not that everyone else’s cookies wouldn’t be lovely. But we are pretty set in our ways at my house. We know what we like and we don’t want to stray. I usually make the same lineup of cookies every year, once in a while I throw in something new to try. But heaven forbid I forget to do a regular and everyone in my house will let me know!

So we have about 6 staples that I must make every year and then if time permits I will make one or two others. Below is my lineup for this year…. let me know what’s on your must have list! If you would like any of the recipes I use send us an email or DM ☺️

1. Best EVER chocolate chip cookies

2. Mini Chocolate Chip Snowballs

3. Thumbprint cookies

4. Linzer cookies

5. Peanut Butter Cup cookies

6. Snickerdoodle

7. Black and White

8. Sugar Cookies

9. Italian Christmas Cookies
